Michael O'Meara,
Executive Board

An industry expert with more than 40 years of successful experience in the Utility Company electric metering field, Mike O'Meara has a proven ability to build relationships and communicate across a wide spectrum of industry professionals. Mike understands that electric metering requirements impact a vast network of industries and strives to stay involved in the leading edge of developing and maintaining electrical systems that provide a safe and cost effective method of providing electric service to utility customers. He serves on multiple organizations within the electric industry and has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership and professionalism in these efforts.

Mike is currently serving as the Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) National Electric Code Task Force and has represented the utility industry on several code-making panels over the last 15 years. He is also the current Vice-Chairman of the Electric Utility Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC),and the Sr. Past-President for the local Central Arizona Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).

Mike is currently employed at Arizona Public Service Company (APS) in the Meter Operations area. He has held the positions of Field Operations Foreman, Field Coordinator, Field Operations Section Leader and Meter Technical Specialist. Mike's current responsibilities include meter engineering work on specialized meter systems, Alternative Energy Systems consulting, electrical code consulting and Chairman of the APS service requirements committee, establishing construction requirements for installations within the APS system


Euserc Vice Chairman from November 2015 to October 2017 (retired from city of Roseville in October 2017). From November 2013 to November of 2015 section 400 chairman. City of Roseville representative for Euserc from 2004 to 2017 (after becoming a Journeyman Meterman at Roseville). From 1989 to 2017 worked for City of Roseville in various capacity such as Senior & Journeyman Meterman and Senior & Journeyman Substation Tech which included SCADA and Relay Tech work, Emergency Dispatch and Operations Supervisor. In my 29 years of experience Have worked on all Substation and Revenue Metering equipment and issues and I was the subject matter expert at Roseville for Customer Owned Interconnected Generation (COIG). I have worked both as a union and as a management employee.
